Young people in 23rd Salisbury Beaver Scout Colony have been working on the new You Shape Award, launched in September last year. It is a challenging Award with 4 sections to complete.
The photo shows two of the Beaver Scouts after receiving their Award. They achieved it by leading part of the campfire at one of their colony meetings and then leading some singing at the district ‘Save the Planet’ event. They made recruitment posters and wrote a letter to the local newspaper to raise awareness of the fundraising for a local campsite. They also led n activity in a meeting, created a game for their colony to play, led a log chew and helped with ideas and planning for Beaver meetings, amongst other leadership challenges appropriate to their age group.
`It is believed that they are the first Beaver Scouts to have achieved the award in the District, but if anyone knows differently, then please let us know!
