We’re setting up a team of like-minded, technically advanced people who are here to help with all your digital and technical requirements in Salisbury & South Wilts Scouts. From email addresses and data storage to tools and training, our team has the knowledge and skills to get you what you need.

Email and Microsoft 365

Stay connected and get things done with Microsoft 365

We utilise industry leading Microsoft 365 platform for our email, document storage, collaboration and online conferencing tools. With the features that Microsoft 365 provides, we’re eager as a District to expand the platform to our Groups and Units. 

These tools and hosting would normally cost thousands of pounds a year, but we are delighted to be able to offer it across the District for free!

What’s included in Microsoft 365?

All users have access to:

  • Outlook (Enterprise Email)
  • Office Online (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • SharePoint (document sharing)
  • Microsoft Teams (meetings and collaboration)
  • OneDrive (personal cloud document storage)

We’re unable to offer the desktop (runs on your PC/Laptop) versions of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel etc) however most functionality is replicated in the web versions.

Account Concepts

Each user will have a personal mailbox, made up of <<firstname>>.<<lastname>> This is your username, and is used to login to Microsoft 365 and other services. Depending on your role, you may also be given a team based mailbox, <<team>> These use shared mailboxes and allow multiple people in a team to access to shared emails, calendars and contact lists. 

If you have your own domain name ( you can bring it along, and use our platform.

Accessing Email

The best way to access your email is through the Outlook App for iOS and Android, or via Outlook on Web.
*We will only be able to provide support if you are accessing your email through the Outlook App for iOS and Android.

Request an Account

To request an account, you will need to complete our Account Request Form and ensure you include all the relevant details. There are some pre-requisites to getting your account created, these are listed below.

What else is available?

Once you have an account, you can request access to certain areas and software. These can be seen below in our Digital Catalogue.

Microsoft Teams

Create a Group and Team for use within your Leadership Team or Trustee Board. This comes with shared document storage and digital task lists.

Shared Mailbox

Create a Shared Mailbox to allow your whole team to view and send emails from a central email address.

There are a few ways to find support. Our main route is to email our Digital Team on who will be able to help you with all of our tools provided within the District.

If you are looking to improve your digital skills and awareness across various tools, then check out the new Digital Skills Tool. This has been developed by Scouts, and has a network of Digital Champions in support to help you learn new digital skills.
