Explorers

Explorer Scouts is the section for young people aged 14 – 18.

Units meet various days of the week but may not always be at their headquarters location as they may be taking part in events elsewhere or joining with others for a meeting. Activities also take place at weekends. There are numerous opportunities to camp out, take part in adventurous activities and international events.

You can obtain top awards like the Queens Scout Award or the Duke of Edinburgh Award and a multitude of others.

For further information about Explorer Scout activities in the Salisbury & South Wilts District area contact John Wyeth or look at the entries for each unit.

Young Leaders

Explorer Scout Young Leaders are Explorer Scouts who volunteer alongside adult leaders in a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop. They’re a valuable asset to any leadership team and play an active role in the section, bringing a range of fresh ideas to the table and acting as positive role models for the young people they work alongside.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

Members of The Scouts can participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme with us. An opportunity is available for the volunteering element of the Awards by becoming a Young Leader helping with the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. For more information, please get in touch with John Wyeth.
