We don’t need super heroes. We just need some lovely volunteers to come along and help our young people have fun and learn Skills for Life.
In Scouts, we share the load by having a team of volunteers – so you don’t need to be able to commit to helping every week either. And to top it off, you’ll be paid in smiles and thank yous!
What can I do?
There’s a variety of ways to lend a hand, whether it’s jumping into the fun activities with our Young People or providing valuable support behind the scenes. From organising badges to keeping parents in the loop, every bit of help makes a big difference in creating a fantastic experience for everyone involved!
Working together in teams is a fantastic way to lighten the load and stay flexible for all our incredible volunteers. It allows us to share responsibilities and adapt to everyone’s needs. There are lots of teams to choose from, take a look at some of them below.
Our Teams
Section
Our Section Teams plan, and deliver amazing activities and events to our Young People within all our Groups. Working directly with the Young People, they share their skills and knowledge, helping to prepare our Young People with Skills for Life.
Programme
Our Programme Team helps Section Teams run high-quality programmes, encouraging international trips, night's away for our Young People, and support the completion of Top Awards within the Sections. They also provide advice and support for new Sections.
Support
Our Support Teams are the backbone of how we operate. They assist in opening new sections, support our processes, manage our communication platforms and maintain our property and equipment. We simply couldn't do it without them!
Volunteer Development
Our Volunteer Development Teams are incredible! They're there for our volunteers from day one, offering support in various ways. Some team members guide new volunteers through inductions and learning, while others focus on supporting and recognising volunteers for their invaluable time and dedication.
Leadership
Our Leadership Teams take the lead at Group and District level, ensuring volunteers have all the resources and support in the right places. They help to deliver the Scouts' strategy, as well as engaging with the local community.
Trustee Boards
Our Trustee Boards play a vital role within our Groups and District. They keep us aligned with policies and legislation, manage finances, and ensure risks are handled properly. Their guidance is fundamental for Scouts' success now and in the future.
